I knew Tom was in it but hadn’t gone and checked out the cast list. I had no idea C-Pine was in it too! So exciting!

The film is called Django Unchained, and it will star Christoph Waltz. “It’s a western whose lead character is a former slave who is in league with Waltz to save his wife from an evil plantation owner,” said the director’s agency.
CHRISTOPH WALTZ is in it! I’ve been looking forward to this movie since Quentin mentioned wanting to do a “spaghetti Western about an escaped slave” back in 2009 after Inglourious Basterds came out.

Anxiously Awaiting: Django Unchained (Quentin Tarantino, 2012-ish?)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPLEASEPLEASEEEE
“Personally invited onto the set barely a month into production, Empire delightedly watched a film — two films — already in full swing. Thirteen cantankerous dwarves, one barely tolerant wizard, and a befuddled hobbit are seen arriving at the gates of Rivendell and sneered at by local elves. Jackson assures us he is once again reaching for the mighty spectacle of Lord Of The Rings, but also bringing a certain ‘Hobbity-ness’ all its own. ‘The tone is actually the part of it I’m enjoying the most,” he laughs, casting a fond eye upon his rabble of exotic dwarves, clattering about set like they own the place. ‘They have a healthy disregard for the icons of Middle-earth.’”
~ Empire magazine, August 2011 issue
This hits the stands over yonder on June 30th but it’s usually about a month (if not two) later over here so, yeah, that’ll be me rabbiting off to Chapters once a week to scout the magazine racks until this shows up and I embarrass myself in public.

Yay: Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming spaghetti western, believed to be a tribute to Sergio Leone, seems to actually be happening. The director has reportedly handed in the final draft of the script, called Django Unchained, to the Weinstein Company. (The title allegedly pays homage the Sergio Corbucci film Django, as well Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django.) Tarantino’s agent has confirmed that Christoph Waltz will be in the film. According to IndieWire, Waltz’s character “joins up with former slave Django to save his wife from an evil plantation owner.” According to Deadline, Django will reunite Tarantino with Pulp Fiction producer Stacey Sher, and the movie will begin production as soon as this summer or fall. Also, what’s allegedly the script’s cover page has leaked, and its child-like scrawl is somehow promising. [ThompsonOnHollywood/IndieWire, Deadline]
